Learn the plays, master the language, quiz yourself. Study saves on your device.
You don't have to memorize every call. Our GPS wristband system has it — on game day you get the number, find it on your band, and go. So why learn the language below? Because the faster you know it cold, the faster you play: you'll line up, spot your job, and cut loose. Learn it to get fast — lean on the wristband so you never get stuck.
Once you know how a call is built, every play reads itself.
Base plays have a one-word call — Buffalo, Bills, etc. On the wristband the same play can come in three flavors, and they all mean the exact same thing:
Add "Flip" to any call to run its mirror — same play, strength/side flipped.
The first word in the play name sets which way the formation strength is. Everything works off it — pullers, the Y/wing, and the play side all flow to strength. Every core play has a mirror pair: same play, strength flipped.

Everything is built off the Buck (sweep) series with a Counter/Bandit complement — then dressed up with motion, formation, and read/RPO tags. Learn Buck first; the rest hangs off it.
MT · Strong (STR) · Flop / Flop Wide · Over (OV) / Dbl Over · Empty · Bug · Trips Stack · Quads · Pro On · Boz · Tank / Brick (heavy) · Bixby (goal-line).
Trade / B Trade · B Jet · F Jet · X Orbit · F Swirl · A/B/F Fly.
The cadence tells you exactly when the ball is snapped. Lock in on the QB every play. Move early and it's a flag; move late and you lose the rep. Listen for the cue word — it tells you the count.
Fast, no-huddle tempo. QB call: "SET!" — ball snaps on "Set." No clap, no wait. Get set and GO.
QB call: "Ready, Ready! Set! CLAP" — ball snaps on the clap.
QB call: "Ready, Ready! Set! CLAP, CLAP" — ball snaps on the second clap.
It's a dummy / kill — do not snap. QB call: "Ready, Ready! Set! CLAP, CLAP — Look to the sideline." Eyes up, look to the sideline for the new call.
First family = 1 clap: boy names, Monday, January.
Second family = 2 claps: girl names, Tuesday, February.
N-states = No play (check with me).
Sonic = go on set.

Check a play once you know it cold — SKILL cue, OL cue, when we call it. Your progress saves on your device.
Pick your spot and study the offense through your eyes — your diagram and your job on every play. Your pick saves on your device.
Coach fills in each position's assignment over time. Until then you'll see your group's diagram + a note that the job is coming.
Pick a play — run, pass, RPO, or read — and draw it up from memory on the field, then reveal the real diagram and check yourself. Backs and receivers draw your track; linemen flip to the OL view for the blocking. Know your job before the snap.
Answer — the real diagram. Compare it to what you drew.
One receiver's route is wiped off the play. Draw it in from the highlighted (gold) player — we grade the shape and reveal the real route in green.
Your pass concepts through the R4 lens — Rhythm, Read, Rush. Auto-tagged from the routes; Coach edits the truth.
A framework for reading space, time, and talent — works inside any offense. It's not a playbook; it's how the QB decides.
Rhythm · Read · Rush · Release — the four route families and the four decision phases. Every route and every decision is one of these.
Open isn't separation. Open = space + timing + leverage. A route is capped when a defender owns the space, has a dominant hip angle, and can close on time — uncapped when he can't.
Read a defender's post-snap weapons and grade each (+) / (0) / (–) at the Rhythm phase of the drop. A route is open only when it's uncapped by these.
Coverage = dominant position · Alignment = angle of his hips in time · Personnel = ability to close & cap route-side space. (R4 Glazier clinic 2026)
Every vertical has a horizontal answer: Seam→Sit · Corner→Turn out · Cross→Spot · Fade→Curl. Adjust without breaking timing.
Every decision ~0.4s; protection rarely lives past 2.6s. Rhythm 1.8 · Read 2.2 · Rush 2.6. Drops set the timeline (1-step RPO · 2-step quick · quick 3 rhythm · punch 3 rhythm→read · quick 5 intermediate).
R4 beats are tied to the launch point, not a fixed drop. Move the launch point and the clock stretches and the read flows to the action side.
Coaching point: on both actions, action-side receivers run their breaks a hair later (or convert/settle if he’s buying time) to match the moving platform — and the backside is a run-or-throwback tier, not part of the on-time read.
Eyes can't run a true 1–5. Use scan families: Solo (1 defender/1 space) · Set (2 in one space) · Split (field in half) · Stack (high–low: floods, boots) · Swipe (boundary↔field). Elite QBs delete options before they read.
Lock central vision on space, not people; peripheral vision catches movement. Anchor between threats; don't chase receivers.
Learn the coverages and how R4 beats each — then test your eyes. First read every time: count the deep safeties.
Your base run schemes drawn up against each front — alignment, technique, and every blocker's job. Strength shown to the right (Y/B side).
Pick a scheme and a front, then draw up the blocking on the pre-snap picture with your finger. Tap Reveal to flip to the coached answer and check your work. Strength is to the right (Y/B side).

Primarily Cover 0 man-pressure — but they MIX a split-field quarters/C1 package. WK10 was near-pure C0; the regular-season CP game was ~40% C0, ~43% split-field C4/C1, ~14% C4. Carry man-beaters AND quarters-beaters; motion pre-snap to declare it.
| DB | Leverage | Grades | Attack |
|---|---|---|---|
| Field CB · #26 Reed softest role | Under-inside | Collision − · Closure − | Huskie (Smash) corner · Wave (Flood) post & out. |
| Boundary CB · #5 Smith Jr | Under-inside | Cushion + · Collision − · Closure − | Keeps cushion → free-release timing (Michigan/Gator); post & out on Wave; double-move if he sits. |
| Boundary S · #12 Robinson was CB | Mixed | Collision − · Closure − | Man in C0 → A Baylor (Vert Choice) seam / Demon (Post/Corner) vertically. |
| Field S · #23 Prater was CB | Over-inside | Collision − · Closure − | Man in C0 → A Baylor seam & Demon post/corner behind him. |
Open on film: OUT routes (repeatedly), 1-on-1 POST ("no collision, poor break by CB"), free releases (corners don't jam), verticals on both safeties (they don't collision).
Plan: Field CB — Huskie (Smash)/Wave (Flood) · safeties — A Baylor (Vert Choice)/Demon (Post-Corner) · man-beaters vs C0: Michigan (Mesh)/Demon/Baylor · zone-beaters vs split-field: Gator (Snag)/Wave (Flood)/Cowboy (Waggle) · quick game + hot vs Mike/Double-A. Motion to declare man vs zone.
