The Report

The Report reflects all 3 films (the verified sample).
Rooski Game Scout · Hobart Brickies × Morton · 3 games

They are one front: 33 on 96% of tagged snaps

This reads 125 competitive snaps of Morton on defense, charted play-by-play across 3 games — rows = the MORTON DEFENSE on the field.

What repeats across films is what predicts, and what shows up once is a lean to check on film.

The read
  1. 01 119 of 124 tagged fronts. n=119 HIGH
  2. 02 C0 family on 44% of charted-coverage snaps. card 01 n=53 HIGH
  3. 03 The family follows the hash: C0 on 57% from the middle vs 32% from the LEFT hash. card 02 n=30 HIGH

The cards below carry the samples; every snap behind them is in Every Snap.

Structure

01C0 family on 44% of charted-coverage snaps.

53 of 121 snaps carrying a coverage tag. 4 distinct families appear, so an even spread would be 25%. Top exact tags: C0 (53). n=53 HIGH tendency

from your COVERAGE, HASH

Measured against the 121 snaps carrying a coverage tag.

68 of 121 coverage-tagged snaps were not C0 family — the biggest cluster is 43 in family C1; e.g. snap #1 (Chesterton).

02The family follows the hash: C0 on 57% from the middle vs 32% from the LEFT hash.

30 charted snaps from the middle against 53 from the LEFT hash — the rotation is tagged snap by snap in the trace. n=30 HIGH tendency

from your COVERAGE, HASH

Measured against the 53 snaps from the LEFT hash.

13 of 30 snaps from the middle were not C0 family — the biggest cluster is 7 in family C1; e.g. snap #13 (Chesterton).

What this report does not know. This report is silent on the pre-snap shell picture, where they threw it and where the ball went by air — why, and the column that would fix it, is under Better Data. 13 rows of the 138 exported were excluded as non-competitive snaps and counted, never dropped quietly. 8 findings of the 8 these three films offered cleared the 10-snap floor and every one of them is printed here. How much of each column your staff charts, and every flag raised, are under Better Data.
Sample and rules. 25+ snaps reads HIGH, 10–24 MED, and anything under 10 snaps is not reported here at all. Success is computed, not read off an export column: 40% of the distance on 1st down, 50% on 2nd, the full distance on 3rd and 4th, never on a turnover. A lean that shows up in one film only is a lead to check on film, and is not called a tendency.

How to read this page

Morton's defense in three games: Chesterton (8/28, lost 14-21), Byron Center (9/11, lost 39-49, first three quarters tagged) and Sterling (9/25, lost 20-27, full game), tagged by our staff in our terms - fronts, backer structure, coverages, pressures, gains. The Byron Center 4th quarter is not tagged.

Chesterton and Sterling coverages were tagged as plain numbers (0, 1, 2, 5) and are read as the same calls as C0, C1, C2, C5 in the Byron Center film. Morton did not blitz or stunt against Chesterton (head coach, 2026-10-05), so those snaps count as no pressure.

Gap and defensive strength were not tagged in every film, so they are left out. Three games, so some cuts are still small samples.

What this page can’t see

  • 3 games in this sample, read from your own game column.
  • Field position is read as signed (negative = the offense's own side), which is the convention your data is written in. If your staff signs it the other way, say so and the zones flip.
  • Success rule: 40% of the distance on 1st, 50% on 2nd, the full distance on 3rd/4th; a turnover is never a success.
  • Pressure column three-state: 35 named calls, 49 explicit no-pressure tags (e.g. NONE), 41 blank. Explicit tags counted as KNOWN no-pressure, never as calls.
  • 41 blank pressure-column rows read as 'no extra pressure tagged' — the coach may not have tagged every rush. Confirm.
  • play_type_map left these charted values unmapped (excluded as non run/pass): Fumble (1) — a staff resolves these in 30 seconds; see staff questions.
  • 1 EXCLUDED rows carry a non-empty RESULT (TDs/turnovers can sit on no-play-type rows). They are correctly out of the rate math, but any scoring/turnover count that ignores them is incomplete — disclosed, never silently dropped.
  • Box-score check across every charted row: 12 touchdowns, 1 fumble.
  • Checklist path inferred as HS_WEEKLY (set checklist: {path: ...} in the config to pin it).
  • Confidence: HIGH = 25+ snaps · MED = 10–24 · LOW = under 10 (LOW = a lead to check on film, not a conclusion).

Tag more, see more — what each column unlocks

Everything on this page came from the tagging your staff already does. This tab is the other direction: what each additional column would unlock, ranked by leverage per second of tagging effort.

Tier 2 — moderate effort, large gain (a habit, not a project)

ColumnWhere it is todayWhat it unlocks
GAPnot in this exportrun-game point-of-attack cuts
MOTION (tag NO MOTION too — blanks are ambiguous)not in this exportmotion tendency and response cuts
PLAY DIRnot in this exportdirectional tendency — the first cut a DC asks for
OFF STRnot in this exportstrength-side leans crossed with hash and direction
BACKFIELDnot in this exportbackset tells — back alignment often declares the play side
BACKER STRUCTUREnot in this exportsecond-level structure next to the front — the full run-fit picture

Tier 3 — full-depth charting (what the best-charted programs run)

ColumnWhere it is todayWhat it unlocks
PASS ZONEnot in this exportpass distribution by area of the field
Player-per-snap, SERIES/drive, LINE TECH.full-depth chartingplayer-level tendencies, drive stories, and technique cuts — what the most thoroughly-tagged programs run (95%+ form/play/front, field zone 100%)
You're closer than you think
These columns are already championship-level charting: PLAY # (100%), QTR (100%), SERIES (100%), ODK (100%), YARD LN (100%), DN (100%). Everything on this page runs off tagging you already do.
What we couldn't tell you this week
  • The pre-snap shell picture — no pre-snap shell column is charted.
  • Where they threw it — needs a targeted-route column.
  • Where the ball went by air — needs a targeted-route column.
Not a gap in the film — a gap in the tags. Each one turns on the moment the column fills.

What every word here means

This section reflects all 3 films (the verified sample).

Two vocabularies, kept apart. The first is yours, exactly as your staff defines it. The second is the outside charting's, in plain terms — where the two describe the same thing, your word is the one this page reports in.

Your terms

Not on this page — this room has not sent a glossary sheet, so the only place its own vocabulary is written down is the sample note on the first tab. Send the glossary from your own board and it prints here, in your words, unedited.

The outside charting’s terms, in plain language

Front family
The first word of a front tag, used to group fronts that are the same structure with different adjustments — so a dozen tagged fronts read as the three or four pictures they really are.
Blitz / dog
Extra rushers beyond the standard four. A blitz brings a defensive back; a dog brings a linebacker. Either way somebody who was covering is now rushing.
